A historic moment, set in bronze. This heavy, bronze plaque commemorates the forming of Oldham Industrial Co-Operative Society, 1851 – 1951. Showing beautiful craftsmanship with the details within the relief, this is a truly unique piece.

‘In the troublous times of a century ago, five men foregathered one Sunday evening on the newly errected town hall steps. They discussed means by which the working people of Oldham might be lifted from misery and want, to take their rightful place in a better Britain. These men were William Mills, William Marcroft, William Booth, James Wild and another whose name is not known.’
