Mid Century Prinknash Pottery Tankard
£15.00+ VAT
An ornate tankard made by the Benedictine monks themselves. The body of this tankard feels very traditional and clean in its’ shape that is then contrasted with the handle, that has more flourishes and animal like appearance.
The Prinknash Abbey Pottery was founded in 1942 by Benedictine monks when they found a seam of clay during some building work. Their work is typically red earthenware, often with a metallic glaze. The monks continued to make pottery at the abbey in Granham, Gloucestershire until 1997 when the pottery was sold to the Welsh Porcelain Co.
