Mid Century Prinknash Abbey Tankard
£15.00+ VAT
A curvy tankard design from Prinknash Abbey made by the Benedictine monks themselves. Although technically a retro design, the metallic glaze gives the tankard a more traditional historical appearance.
The Prinknash Abbey Pottery was founded in 1942 by Benedictine monks when they found a seam of clay during some building work. Their work is typically red earthenware, often with a metallic glaze. The monks continued to make pottery at the abbey in Granham, Gloucestershire until 1997 when the pottery was sold to the Welsh Porcelain Co.
