Mid Century Vallauris Fish Lamp

This is a Mid Century, French Vallauris ceramic fish lamp, likely produced in the 1950s or 1960s. It features a stylised, bright red ceramic fish with glossy gold detailing and a large, open aperture revealing a small aquarium scene inside. The interior includes smaller, colorful fish and starfish, creating a “trompe l’œil” (optical illusion) aquarium effect. The lamp was crafted in Vallauris, a town in the south of France famous for its pottery traditions, specifically along the French Riviera.
